The technical backbone behind the UAE's national cyber initiatives
From community CTFs to a national cyber drill for 30 federal entities. A partnership built on shared national vision.
The Partnership
The UAE Cyber Security Council is our national-level partner. The relationship has been there from the beginning. Whenever CSC needs a CTF at a major event, a national exercise, or an international initiative, CTF.ae is the team that builds and runs it.
Together, we've delivered 9 projects across 3 years: CTFs at the UAE's biggest conferences, an international post-quantum cryptography competition, and a national cyber drill for federal government entities. This is not a vendor relationship. It is a shared mission to build national cyber capability.
Project Timeline
GITEX Africa CTF
InternationalFirst joint project. Jeopardy CTF at GITEX Africa in Morocco. The partnership goes international from day one.
ISNR CTF
ConferenceCTF at the International Security National Resilience exhibition. Community-facing competition.
GITEX GLOBAL CTF
ConferenceOfficial CTF at GITEX Global, the world's largest tech exhibition. Open community competition.
IDEX CTF
ConferenceCTF at the International Defence Exhibition. Cybersecurity meets defense industry.
Space 42 Workshop
EducationCybersecurity workshop targeting university students in collaboration with Space 42.
Egypt Universities National CTF
InternationalNational university-level CTF in Egypt. The partnership extends beyond UAE borders.
GITEX GLOBAL CTF
ConferenceSecond year running the official GITEX Global CTF. International qualifier with on-site finals.
CyberQ CTF
FlagshipCSC's flagship conference on post-quantum cryptography and AI. International CTF with global qualifier and Abu Dhabi finals. 10 teams.
UAE National Cyber Drill
National DrillAttack/Defense cyber drill for 30 federal government entities at ADGM Academy, Abu Dhabi. Sectors: critical infrastructure, security/defense, law enforcement.
Spotlight: CyberQ CTF
CyberQ is CSC's flagship conference, specialized in post-quantum cryptography and AI security. For this event, we designed and hosted an international CTF with a global online qualifier and an in-person final round in Abu Dhabi. 10 teams made it to the finals.
The challenge set was built around the frontier of cryptographic research. Lattice-based schemes, LWE variants, ECDSA exploits, post-quantum signature attacks, and AI model exploitation. This is not a beginner competition. This is where the world's best come to prove it.
We also designed custom hardware badges for every participant. An eagle-shaped PCB with an embedded display, integrated directly into the CTF. One of the challenges required hacking the badge itself.
Sample Challenges
ML-DSAstrous
Attacking post-quantum digital signature schemes.
Hint-fused LWE
Exploiting lattice-based encryption with side-channel hints.
Backdoor Discovery
Finding hidden backdoors in a compromised Falcon3 language model.
Jailbreak Artist
Bypassing safety guardrails on production AI systems.
Nonce Upon a Time
Exploiting nonce reuse in real-world cryptographic protocols.
Hidden Signatures
Detecting steganographic signatures embedded in AI model outputs.
Spotlight: UAE National Cyber Drill
A national cyber drill. An Attack/Defense exercise hosted at ADGM Academy in Abu Dhabi, bringing together teams from 30 federal government entities. Each entity defended its own simulated infrastructure against realistic attack scenarios.
The drill addressed three critical sectors: critical infrastructure, security and defense, and law enforcement. Scenarios included web exploitation, cryptographic attacks, and OT exploitation targeting simulated water desalination plant systems. This is the kind of exercise where the consequences of failure mirror the real world.
Critical Infrastructure
OT exploitation scenarios targeting industrial control systems, including water desalination plant simulations.
Security & Defense
Advanced attack scenarios testing detection, containment, and response capabilities under pressure.
Law Enforcement
Digital forensics and incident response scenarios requiring evidence preservation and chain-of-custody procedures.
"Building a cyber-resilient nation requires partners who understand both the technical depth and the national vision. CTF.ae has consistently delivered at the standard our initiatives demand."
